EOS was one of the sky deities and the sister of Helios (Sun) and Selene (Moon). She was daughter of Hyperion, one of the Titans, a bringer of light and the mother of the evening star Eosphorus (Hesperus) and the winds Boreas, Zephyrus and Notus.
She was caught in an affair with Aphrodite's sweetheart, Ares (God of war) and Aphrodite cursed her with an insatiable desire for handsome young men.
There are many pictures of EOS; as a rosy-fingered, saffron-robed and golden-throned goddess, who ascends Mount Olympus to
announce the light to the immortals or in a chariot drawn by four winged-horses, one of them being Pegasus. In the picture, she is shown
pouring the light of dawn from her flask.
