Overview

  • Voice over IP (VoIP) means that the telephones use a broadband line to carry the voice as “IP packets”, in a similar way to how data is carried to and from a PC or MAC. “Hosted” VoIP means that there is no on-site equipment to worry about (unlike a traditional PBX). The intelligence of the system is housed in a secure data centre.

Hosted VoIP is the modern way to provide Businesses with all the features that you would expect to find in a large office, but with other benefits not available from traditional telephone systems.

“Hermes®” is the Hosted VoIP system from EOS Communications, based upon proven IP technology and exclusively designed for Businesses. It uses the global industry standard protocol (SIP) to carry the voice and we configure the system so that it does not have to use the public internet (unlike Skype). Hermes is truly a 21st Century telephony system designed for Business. Hermes® gives you all the features that you would expect to find in a large office, but at a small office price.

It is highly scalable, so as your business changes, new users and services can be added (or removed) at very short notice. It is particularly appropriate for Businesses that operate between several locations (e.g. main office, sub-offices and home workers) and of course the call charges are inherently low.
